Flavie Van der Stigghel is a French artist, she lives and works in the south of France. The intensity of the Flavie Van Der Stigghel’s sculptures, bordering on abstraction, denotes a huge need of creative independence. Far from formal minimalism, she confronts all the complexity of her realities in the silence of the clay. The soft mixes with the rough, the voids contrast with the shapes, and in the same work, a flamboyant enamel can give way to the nakedness of the material. In a relationship to space marked by her secret impulses, Flavie stretches the clay to its limit. This sensitive dynamic is intensified by the geometry which structures her constructions.
