Andrée & Michel Hirlet

Anthropomorphic Sculpture

Throughout their career, the Hirlets chose to follow a path that bypassed well-worn artistic conventions. They distanced themselves as much as possible from facile consumerism and specious ideological posturing. This approach initially earned them a reputation for courage and humility, and ultimately won them success and respect. Today they are regarded as visionary pioneers in French ceramic art.
