Erwan Boulloud

French Artist, Designer, and Artisan, graduated from the Ecole Boulle. »Beyond its aesthetic success, a work seems accomplished to me in its ability to generate descendants ; for me, that is a sign of its depth. » Erwan Boulloud employs a wide range of materials, harnessing the potential of each to bring out their uniqueness. For the artist, matter is a field of experimentation, where he burns, polishes, strips, dissects, and reconstructs materials to reveal their many facets and uncover their depth.

« Each assembled piece carries within it a narrative that unfolds through its forms, materials, and movements. » Guided by a Darwinian logic, his creations emerge in a state of perpetual effervescence, then adapt and evolve to form lineages, crossbreeds, or mutations before eventually disappearing. His work, imbued with fundamental questions, takes root in a surprising artistic and metaphysical journey. »I have a passion for all somewhat mysterious organisms and minerals, like stones, fossils, corals, meteorites, insects… Anything that invites reflection, meditation, and wandering. »

This fascination with living and enigmatic elements breathes life into his sculptural furniture, which blurs the boundaries between the animate and the inanimate. With poetry, Erwan Boulloud draws us into a universe where history and storytelling intersect and intertwine, deliberately erasing the line between reality and dream. Driven by cycles of transformation, the artist weaves connections between memory, esotericism, and science. He fuses organic forms with precious materials and stylistic references to illustrate intimate and timeless narratives where art engages with science. His works, true hymns to metamorphosis, reflect our relationship with life, its creations, and the tensions they provoke. They offer us a meditation on the mystery of the world around us.
