REM Atelier
REM Atelier is an art and design studio based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, led by Remty Elenga and Remco van Halderen. The name REM represents the first shared letters of their names and, more symbolically, the melting together of their interdisciplinary practices.
The duo creates objects and installations that playfully question both functionality and decor in everyday objects. Revolving around observation and experience of materiality, often led by an interest in organic structures, REM Atelier’s work investigates the process of organically shaped objects versus artificial representation. Collaboratively, they aim to shape an alternate space, subjecting the surroundings to the artwork.
